Non-distinguishable and lonely Bernie’s whole life was one big misfortune. He was so misfortunate that one of the casinos in Las Vegas hired him as a “cooler” – a guy who gives his losing aura to the lucky players and they are no longer fortunate. Because Bernie owes money to the casino, he is forced to do this job diligently until he pays off the debt. Meeting Natalie, who brings fortune in everything, changes his life and his fate. He is in love and wants to leave Las Vegas with his lover, but the heartless manager of the casino and his mafia bosses don’t want to lose their precious employee…
Actor Alex Baldwin initially refused to play a supporting role in the film because the character seemed too brutal, but his agent persuaded him to play the casino manager – Shelly, which later led to him being nominated for the Oscar.
