His mother, who has lost her husband, is obsessed with the idea that her husband’s soul was reincarnated into a fish after death and is trying to connect with her. A girl who is going to Paris experiences loneliness and tries in vain to make contact with strangers. Her life in France and the young watch seller’s life in Taiwan are connected by some invisible threads. The Taiwanese director only mentions the existence of this connection with symbols.
