Duncan Skiles’s thriller-drama, in which difficult choices of people in social captivity is much more dangerous and disturbing than a murderer.
Little religious town in USA. Years ago there were several serial killings here and city residents gather every year to honor the victims. Tyler is a modest teenager with loving parents and a sister. His idyll is broken after a girl on a date finds a ripped of page from a porn magazine in his car (or rather in his father’s car). Rumors about his sexual deviations spread in the town with lightning speed, which even puts his relationship with friends under attack. Tyler tries to convince others that he is normal and the magazine does not belong to him. In this attempt, he accidentally discovers a dizzying secret …
The film in part is based on the story of the real serial killer “BTK” (bind, torture, kill), who operated from 1974 to 1994 and left the ropes at the crime scene.
